Rebbe Nachman, the great-grandson of the Baal Shem Tov, was the founder of Breslov hassidus. He passed away from tuberculosis at the age of 38. During his short lifetime, he inspired a devoted group of followers as a Tzadik, Torah sage, mystic, teacher, Chassidic master and storyteller. Thousands of Jews visit his grave in the Ukrainian town of Uman, particuarly on Rosh Hashana.
In the last 200 years, the influence of Rebbe Nachman's teachings has continued to grow, with printing of numerous books, including Likutei Moharan, Likutei Halachot and Sichot HaRan. |
