ABOUT US

OUR APPROACH

We rescue Jewish cemeteries and the gravesites of tzadikim by cleaning and renovating gravestones, building fences around cemeteries and ohelim over graves, putting up appropriate signs at the gravesites of the tzadikim and at the entrances to cemeteries, lighting ner tamidim at the graves of tzadikim and providing hospitality for hundreds of thousands of visitors who visit kivrei tzadikim throughout the year.

Our activities at Kiryat Baal Shem Tov in Mezibuz include the ohel  at the grave of the Baal Shem Tov (Or Shivat Hayamim, may his merit protect us), the ancient synagogue of the Baal Shem Tov and many other buildings to provide food and drink and accommodations for those who come to the holy tziun.

Agudas Ohalei Tzadikim can be found in almost every cemetery in the Ukraine – cleaning, renovating, fencing, fixing gravestones and building ohelim and fences around kivrei tzadikim.  We also mark burial sites that cannot be fenced or where buildings are standing, and we make contact with authorities as needed to rescue cemeteries and ancient synagogues from destruction.

In recent years, Ohalei Tzadikim has expanded its efforts throughout the world, including recent projects in Syria, Yemen and Turkey.  A majority of our projects are in Eretz Israel.  Our vision is to be in every place that Jews are buried and that there is no one to take care of their resting places.
